Julien Paul Blitz was the conductor for the first concert given on June 21, 1913. The Houston Symphony Association was formed that autumn and the first season consisted of three concerts held at the Majestic Theater. The first president of the Association was Mrs. Edwin B. Parker, who served from 1913 to 1918. Miss Ima Hogg was First Vice President, with Frantz Brogniez as Second Vice President. Other officers were: Mrs. William Abbey, Corresponding Secretary; Mrs. Z. F. Lillard, Recording Secretary; and Treasurer, Mr. H. F. MacGregor.
